Information We Collect
- Information You Provide: When you sign up on our website, you share your name, email address, city, and state/province. We never ask for street addresses. Phone numbers are collected only if you call our Joyline service or opt in to receive text messages (see below).
- Technical Information: We log basic tech info to help us understand how Friends & Neighbors use the site so we can make it better.
- Financial Information: We don't sell anything yet. When we do, we'll use secure systems like Stripe or PayPal. We never house your financial data.
How We Use Your Information
Joyline Phone Service
Joyline is our free telephone service (1-888-282-4JOY). We capture your phone number only to deliver suggestions or one-time reminder texts.
Reply STOP to end reminders. Call logs are stored for 13 months, then deleted. We do not store voice recordings.
Text Messaging (SMS)
When you opt in to text messages from Browndog — by calling our phone line and agreeing on the call, by web form, or by texting us — you may receive messages such as a link to that day's content (a positivity idea, a memory prompt, or a good deed suggestion) and a number to call the line again. Message frequency varies by program, from a single one-time text up to approximately one message per day. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Mobile information is shared only with the service providers that operate our messaging (such as Twilio), solely to deliver the messages you requested.
Browndog Daily Joy Alexa Skill
The Browndog Daily Joy Alexa skill does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We do not record or retain voice input. We do not request your name, email, location, or any account information.
Your interaction with the skill is processed by Amazon under Amazon's own privacy practices, which you can review in your Alexa app. Browndog Daily Joy is operated by 1845.ai and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon.
Content is delivered from Browndog's servers and is intended for general entertainment and connection — not medical, mental health, or professional advice.
Terms of Service
1. Agreement
By using the Browndog website, the Browndog Daily Joy Alexa skill, the Joyline phone service, or any other Browndog service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them.
2. About Browndog
Browndog is operated by 1845.ai. The Browndog Daily Joy Alexa skill is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon. Use of an Alexa device is also governed by Amazon's terms.
3. Content
Browndog provides daily ideas, prompts, and suggestions. Content is for general informational and entertainment purposes only — not medical, mental health, or legal advice.
4. Text Messaging
By opting in to our text messaging, you consent to receive recurring automated texts from Browndog at the number you provide. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies (from a one-time text up to about one per day). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. Ownership
The Browndog name, logo, written content, audio, and designs are the property of 1845.ai. Please ask before using them.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Browndog services for any unlawful purpose, to harass others, or to disrupt or reverse-engineer the services.
7. No Warranty
Browndog services are provided "as is" and "as available." We don't warrant that they will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, 1845.ai is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the services.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles.
